To configure Outlook 2007 to work with Gmail IMAP server is not difficult, besides being much more practical to access your Outlook email.
First you must enable IMAP in Gmail.
Login to your gmail account go to the Settings link at the top of the page after the section Forwarding and POP / IMAP and check the Enable IMAP and press Save Changes.
Now open Outlook, go to Tools / Account Settings and Email On tab, press the New button. Keep the option selected Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP or HTTP and press Next. Select the option manually configure the server. Press Next and choose the Internet Mail.
Go Next Enter your name and e-mail (Gmail), and the User Name and password (also gmail).
In Account Type, select IMAP. In the Incoming Server, type imap.gmail.com and Outgoing server, enter smtp.gmail.com
Now go on the More Settings button.
In the Mail Settings on the Internet do the following,
In the General tab give a name for the account.
In the Outgoing Server tab and check the item My Outgoing Server (SMTP) requires authentication, keep selected the option Use same settings as Incoming Server.
In the Advanced tab.
In the Incoming (IMAP) enter 993.
Use the following type of encrypted connection, choose SSL.
In the Outgoing Server (SMTP) enter 587.
Use the following connection type, choose TLS.
From OK, then Next and Finish.
Ready now you can access your gamil the PC with ease and comfort.
